Updates
I was going through my GitHub today making sure I had everything in order for a professional looking set of projects I could show and remembered oh right I have a blog! I wouldn’t say I forgot about this but rather writing about my experiences and life events feels more like work than creating a “digital garden” so to speak.
I had a similar life update article in the works I never posted which was right after spring last year that I have since posted.
Of course I have lots to write about to update for a year and three months of absence but there are some things I wanted to address first.
AI usage
When I have shown this blog to others usually as a reference about the CoreCTF I participated in people accurately determined that the writeup sounded like AI. They are correct of course, in the past I have written posts and then dropped my markdown over to an LLM for spelling, grammar, and wording. Honestly now two years in the future this is something I am no longer going to be doing. While I think AI (more specifically LLMs) are cool technology they take the soul out of creating, therefore this post and the previous written now released post is AI free.
Future of the blog
Even in the limited subset of articles posted there is a pretty clear trend on me having a grand idea or making promises both soft and hard to do XYZ. I will not be doing that moving forward. This blog could sit empty for another few years and that is perfectly fine.
To me the blog sits in a strange place between writing technical stuff and writing life stuff and far too much in my opinion has been written towards life stuff. I already maintain personal notes privately so having a mix of the same online is redundant.
